UK Recruitment Trends Report 2011

In this report, Broadbean (a provider of recruitment advert posting and candidate response tracking technology) have taken both a macro and industry-specific view of what they saw happen in the UK recruitment market during 2011. Looking back, it is clear that 2011 was the year in which the depth and breadth of the economic trough became more widely understood. That there is unlikely to be a swift and material change to this condition now goes relatively unchallenged.

Report: Hiring expectations of 41 countries and territories Q3-2012

Despite a general softening trend from 12 months ago, employers in most labor markets report varying degrees of positive hiring activity for the third quarter.

According to the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey of global hiring trends released today, hiring activity is expected to slow from last year at this time in two-thirds of the countries and territories surveyed. The survey reveals few clear signs of notable traction in the labor market. However, the research reveals that employers in 33 of 41 countries and territories surveyed expect varying degrees of positive hiring activity for the third quarter. Hiring intentions are expected to improve or remain relatively stable in 32 labor markets compared to the second quarter, while hiring expectations weaken in 26 markets compared to this time last year. Swedish Armed Forces: Who Cares?

Do you really care about other people? Would you give up your freedom to help others? Would you enter a room not knowing when you might get out? Tough questions to answers. Who cares? is a controversial, almost creepy, ambient interactive project that challenged the Swedish to prove if they are ready to help people in need.

Trojan Recruiting

I really enjoy creative guerrilla marketing techniques in Recruitment. The next case comes from Jung von Matt who were looking for Art Directors. To find them they used Trojan horses: 15 well-known photographers. They show their work regularly to the best creative agencies. So they integrated small job ads in their portfolios. For example as an inscription on a bus, a graffiti on a wall or a stitchery on a pullover. In this way the photographers carried the job marketing massage precisely to our target group.

Congratulations of being part of a 100.000 members LinkedIn group! On January 26, 2008, the Recruitment Consultants and Staffing Professionals Group was created to provide a platform for Recruiters with quality contacts, jobs and discussions. It was not the first Recruitment/Recruiter group but soon after a few industry leaders, like Shally Steckerl, joined this group it grew to the second-largest Recruiter group on LinkedIn. Today it’s still one of the largest groups on LinkedIn, in top 60 of a total 1,300,000 groups.
